Data deletion
Effective October 15, 2026.
You can delete your data from Ukraine by locals at any time. Here are three ways, depending on how you used the service. See the privacy policy for details about the data.
Bot data in Facebook Messenger or Instagram
- Open the conversation with the Ukraine by locals page in Messenger or Instagram.
- Send forget (or забути). The bot explains what will be deleted.
- Send forget yes (or забути так).
This immediately deletes the ID Meta gave us for your account, your name, chosen language, link to a website account and the bot message log. Your website account, if you have one, stays. Even without the command, the bot message log is deleted after 30 days.
You can also remove Ukraine by locals' access in your Facebook settings: Settings → Business integrations.
Website profile
- Sign in and open My profile.
- Click “Delete profile” and confirm with your password.
The profile becomes inactive immediately and is permanently erased after 30 days: email, name, password, sessions, messenger links, notifications, settings and roles. During those 30 days you can restore it simply by signing in. Your nickname and the materials you published stay, because other members edit them together. Database backups are deleted automatically after 14 days.
Request by email
If you can't use the options above or want specific data removed (for example, a photo or text in a material), write to support@ukrainebylocals.guide from the address your profile is registered with, or tell us where you wrote to the bot. We'll reply and complete the request within 30 days.
